Guy around here walks around with a hogleg on his side everywhere he goes just to prove he can. He gets the cops called on him all the time and I have seen people literally RUN from him in Walmart, but no one messes with him! I think that does more to damage open carry rights than promote them.
You can open carry without being quite as "open" as this gentlemen is. I'm glad I live in an open carry state, and support people's right and decision to do so.
If more of us open carried it might not be such a big deal. People would get used to it. It was commonplace back history. Remember, people used to shy away from tattooed folks too.

Awesome... Nobody will EVER screw with this guy... That is why you should OC., so those who try to intimidate will think twice with someone flashing firepower.
I am just glad he has the right to OC. Wish we had the same Right here in Texas
