Body armor, gas mask, ballistic helmet and peacefully surrendered. it's not like he was pulling off a robbery like the North Hollywood shootout either.
Wife and I were talking, if it wasn't the "lone gunman" I hope there is nothing else "planned". All that gear is extremely expensive, especially for a guy in college not working.
I raised an eyebrow once I heard he was captured. Mass murderers have already decided that is their lat day , either self inflicted or law enforcement.
I always take the conspiracy theories with a very large grain of salt. Lets be honest with ourselves. If we wanted to get that body armor, and we had the financial resources, anybody on this site probably has a good idea on how to do it. As for the booby traps like my drill sergeant at Ft Leonard Wood told me " You're only limited by your imagination.". If this guy really is mentally unstable, why are we complaining that his actions don't make sense?
I always find the theories interesting. I remember a few years ago at a gun show, there was a vendor selling bulletproof vests. He looks as me and said "It looks like you could use a vest." Really? LOL
He was getting grant money supposedly. That was how he purchased the AR, shotgun, 2 Glocks, and alot of ammo. Gov't grant? If so they just funded terrorism.
I heard it was an M&P 15 as well, supposedly his beta drum jammed and forced him to switch weapons. One "allowed" CCW holder in the crowd could have made a difference.
Not sure how they're jumping from $4000 worth of firearms and tac gear to $20000 involved totally. Even so, it's not difficult to imagine a scenario where a college kid would have access to $20000 worth of credit cards to charge this stuff on.
Hubby was saying something like that. The whole thing is just really sad either way :\
got to admit, I thought the exact same thing Friday morning...
Yes, it is sad, but even my wife said "if he was on a killing spree, why did he tell the police about the booby traps?"
And why wear body armor? Don't know if he was brainwashed or what, but I'll bet he wasn't in on this alone.
that's some crazy stuff they did to his apartment! whoever did it. wow.

Heard on the news that the AR was a S&W.
